Top 5 beaches for your Italian beach wedding
Many couples dream about getting married at the beach in Italy and I always make their dream come true.
I’m usually asked for Amalfi Coast as it’s one of the best Italian wedding destinations, so romantic, so colorful. It’s just really amazing. But, they don’t think that it’s actually a coastline, that is to say that it doesn’t have sandy beaches, but rocky ones! So they often get very sad.
That is why, as a careful wedding planner, I chose to write for you this helpful post to show you which are the 5 top beach wedding destinations and how they look like! I cannot choose which is better than the other, so I’ll follow the alphabetical order 🙂
There will be many surprises you wouldn’t ever expect!
Let’s find them out!
#1 top beach wedding: Abruzzo, Trabocchi Coast
Abruzzo is still undiscovered rural Italy, but it also reserves an amazing atmosphere on its coastline. It offers spectacular maritime and mountain panoramas, creating a perfect harmony. In fact, at only 60 km from the sea there’s the highest mountain range of the Apennines, the Gran Sasso.
Locations, such as castles, fortresses, ancient monasteries, are spectacular. Besides, on the coast there are also wonderful historical and traditional structures called “traboccchi”.
Used by fishermen to fish, now they host very important restaurants where you can have your reception right above the waves of the Adriatic Sea. It’s just unique.
In Abruzzo you can find both sandy beaches and cliffs for your beach ceremony.
#2 top beach wedding: Campania, Amalfi Coast
Campania is since ever an extraordinary romantic destination.
It’s full of gentle gulfs, colorful bays and exciting rocky cliffs that give some amazing panoramas. Amalfi on the Amalfi Coast is a very requested destination for beach weddings and so it can be very annoying and very crowded.
That is why if you are looking for a more relaxing location, I would advise to take in consideration Ravello with its beautiful Villas and the Sorrentine Peninsula, which is as fine as the Amalfi Coast.
Nevertheless, here it’s very difficult to find sandy beaches, and if you find them, they’re usually artificial. At the Amalfi Coast you will enjoy sensational promontories among beautiful colors and flower fragrances immersed in olive groves, lemon trees and the blue sea that seems connected with the sky.
#3 top beach wedding: Liguria, Portovenere
Portovenere is another colorful Italian destination wich English couples will love very much. Liguria is a gorgeous little piece of paradise with a very interesting marine environment and a place of an irresistible charm: Byron’s cave. This magical cave was Byron’s deares cove to meditate and get inspired by the panorama and the sea.
This is one of the most romantic and suggestive destinations newlyweds want to enjoy besides the multicolor village of Portovenere overhanging a lovely promontory.
Here you find rocky wedding solutions too.
#4 top beach wedding: Le Marche, Riviera del Conero
Well, in my region you have this exceptional natural place you wouldn’t ever imagined. At the Riviera del Conero you can walk on paradise. Surrounded by Mount Conero, a rocky promontory that rises apparently out of nowhere, you have the whole Adriatic sea in front of you and the show is inimitable.
Try to have a look at Numana, Portonovo, Sirolo and delight yourself. This pic below is just a little spoiler.
It always gives me the idea of being in the Caribbean. Wha do you think?
Your beach wedding can be set in both sandy and rocky beaches. It will be stunning!
#5 top beach wedding: Apulia, Salento
How could I forget about the splendid Salento? If you didn’t know it, Salento is known as “Italian Maldives”, thanks to its pure and candid white sands. A peaceful and smoochy atmosphere is waiting for you.
Moreover, to dive into the authenticity of Apulia, you can have your reception at beautiful traditional Masserias, which have opened since few years their doors to memorable destination weddings!
